Razor cut for thick hair?

Everytime I go to my stylist, I ask for a razor cut, so that way my long hair can look thinner, more sleek and have that 'edge' to it. She never actually uses a razor though, she uses a metal thing and then scrapes my hair. It never turns out right.

How can I get my hair to be sleek and razor cut? Please help!

She's doing the right thing. Maybe you're just not going to a good stylist. You get what you pay for, so if you're not paying much that's probably why it doesn't turn out right. I'd ask around and look for a well-liked stylist. It may cost quite a bit more but it's definitely worth it.
