Is it possible to put dramatic layers in someone's hair, then cut cut off the bottom 1/3 of it?

I want dramatic layers, but I want the cut to be heavy on the bottom, not wispy.

I have really thick, wavy hair that's currently a layered bob, but I want the layers in the back to go up higher without making the longer part too thin. The stylist I was trying to explain this to didn't seem to follow.

Yep. i think i know what u mean. Try explaining to your hairdresser using diagrams. Like drawing it and showing him exactly in the pic how you want it cut. Good Luck. x
